Conflict of Interest...

I was reading this ARTICLE today.
Am I the only one that sees a SERIOUS conflict in this? The state is paying for cancer treatments for a guy with terminal cancer, who is ON death row. And NOW he gets a stay of execution because the medication that they are giving him to save his life MIGHT interact with the medication they would give him to kill him? WTF?

I agree with you thats messed up. I am not a big supporter of the death penalty except for multiple murders. This guy killed 4 people and was sentenced to death. Thy need to carry out the sentence. Here's what I would do discontinue the medicine that would cause the problem and proceed with the sentence. I know it may sound cruel but this guy killed 2 kids and 2 adults and was tried by a jury of his peers. Justice is done. Letting him die naturally will not bring justice to his victims. Killing him will not bring back his victims but it's the consequences he pays for the crime he has committed. Justice and revenge is separated by one human emotion: hate. I think people need to remember that. It is a serious conflict of interest but until the state carries out the judgment than the state is required by law to pay for any medical treatments. I will agree that keeping him alive just to kill him seems a bit inhuman. They don't know for sure that it will interact. It's messed up. Criminals have more rights in this country than the victims. Something that I have written congress about many times. You didn't say where you stand on it.

I don't really have a commentary on the death penalty... or actually not one that I would post in the blog. My posting was more for making fun of the idiocy of not killing someone who was suppose to die because the drugs they use to kill him might interact with the drugs they are using to save him... I mean, what's the worst that can happen???? he dies?
